Scott Chaplinski was born and raised in Bourbonnais and is now a park district commissioner with a master's degree in computer science. Scott brings both technical expertise and genuine passion for the community to his leadership role. He loves riding his bike on the trails at Perry Farm Park, walking with his wife at Willowhaven, and bringing his two young children to the Exploration Station. Scott is also the founder of Kankakee With Kids, a comprehensive local guide to family fun, sports, and events for families in Kankakee County.

Tim McThenia

Tim McThenia serves as a commissioner for the Bourbonnais Township Park District. He earned his B.A. from Lewis University, majoring in Business Administration. Tim is a retired Operations Manager for one of the largest electric utilities in the U.S., in which he provided leadership and management skills for over 40 years. Tim has been married for over 35 years, and he and his wife have two children and two grandchildren, all living in the area.

Mike O'Shea

Mike O’Shea is the Executive Director of the Bourbonnais Township Park District, bringing nearly two decades of experience in parks and recreation. A Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), he holds degrees from the University of St. Francis (B.A., 2006) and the University of Illinois (M.S., 2016). Mike is committed to strengthening community through quality recreation and outdoor experiences. He and his wife are proud parents of five children.

Carter Rodman

Carter Rodman serves as the Director of Finance & Personnel for the Bourbonnais Township Park District. He earned his B.A. from Coe College in 2020, majoring in Public Accounting and Business Administration, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois. Carter’s professional background in accounting combined with his early career experience in Parks & Recreation, provides him with a valuable perspective that helps support the Foundation’s financial stewardship. He believes strongly that the opportunities and experiences offered through Parks & Recreation are vital to building a strong community.

Lindsey Patterson
